Review of : UserTesting.com
Use : Usability Testing
Upon registration, you’ll be presented with available jobs you can take to earn money from your home. Those jobs consist of usability testing. Meaning you’ll be testing, reviewing and commenting websites and/or apps.
Your tests are recorded live through your webcam and microphone. You always have a couple of questions to answer and specific things to do on websites your test. For example, you might be asked to find a specific product and you’ll have to navigate the site to find it, while commenting on everything: easy navigation, good user-experience, your thoughts on the site, bugs, broken links, etc.
Every test you take is 20 minutes long and pay 10$, deposited in your PayPal account 7 days after completion. If you’re not doing a great job or if the company you reviewed decides you didn’t do a great job, you won’t get paid.
You are reviewed by companies on your feedback and have to keep a good quality score in order to get jobs (and get paid).
It’s one of the highest paying usability testing websites out there. 10$ for a 20 minutes test is quite good.
The site has been around for years and overall has a good reputation.
The thing I hate the most is that it’s crazy hard to get approved for a job. Most often than not, you’re either too late for the job or don’t qualify for it. Seriously, it can get really frustrating.
Another downside of the site is that many, many people complained about not getting paid because of companies leaving bad reviews on their jobs. I think UserTesting will do what it takes to protect their clients (businesses) so they give them the ability to “refuse” a job if it doesn’t meet their standards (or if they don’t want to pay users for some reason).
It never happened to me but after reading some users reviews I’ve decided to include the following: using a virtualbox can be a good idea since some people pointed out that they don’t filter properly the websites. Strange, if you want my opinion, but nonetheless, a virtualbox is always a good idea when surfing lot of unknown websites.
The Best Options Sorted By Category
Let me walk you through the simple steps you should take in order to make real money online.
The website will pay you after completing 20 minutes reviews and tests of websites and apps. Using their software, you’ll be speaking your thoughts out loud as you’re visiting their clients’ websites.
You’ll get your head around quite fast. You really just have to say out loud everything you think (that is constructive). What’s good, what’s bad, what’s complicated to understand, easy navigation, etc.
Your goal is to provide useful feedback to the company so they know where and what to work on to offer the best user experience possible to their visitors.
Every usability test is 20 long and you get paid 10$ for each one of them. The money is deposited directly into your PayPal account 7 days after completion.
There currently isn’t a referral program :/
First of, you’ll need to provide feedback and speak your thoughts out loud in real time, using a webcam and microphone. For some people that may be a concern. Not only you need those, but not everybody’s comfortable making videos.
Also, you’re competing with people from around the world for the same jobs. When new jobs are “released”, you need to be quick af to get your spot. If you happen to be fast enough to get a job, don’t be surprised if you don’t even qualify for it. That’s another bummer of this website. Even tho they have your profile, they send you jobs that you might not qualify for.
Now, if you do get the job, qualify for it, have a good quality webcam and mic, you still have a chance of not getting paid. You are getting rated by the companies your review and if they give you bad ratings, UserTesting has the right to not-pay you.
Overall, if you do everything right, are from the right demo and stuff, you shouldn’t have any problem. Still, do it right lol.
