Field Agent is an app that pay you to take on what they call “missions”. You apply for a job in your area and once approved you have 2 hours to complete and submit it. Missions are small job offers from third parties in your area
Personally it’s a nay. The app and concept look very nice but there are way too many complaints about technical glitches, bad support (which I experienced), not getting credited for your job, which can be a real pain when you’ve completed mystery shopping missions.
It’s an app you can download on either Android or iOS. The app connects you with stores and brands near you that are looking for mystery shoppers, kinda.
It allows you, a normal individual, to make some pocket-money from your phone.
Jobs mostly consist of visiting local stores, checking promotions, products, taking photos, scanning items, buy products or go out to restaurant and other small tasks.
The first thing you got to do, after downloading the app, is to apply for jobs and register/reserve your spot. Most of the jobs I got were simple: go to the store, take pictures and send them back to Field Agent.
Pictures needs to be of high quality and there are special requirements for every job. They are VERY picky on what they want and are looking for in a successfully completed job. If you do not meet every requirement or do not reach their expectations you will not get paid.
You’ve got a Trust Score associated with your account. When you successfully complete mission, the score goes up and when you “fail” a mission, you score goes down. I’m just guessing that the better your score is, more missions you get.
It works on a first-come, first-serve basis and all jobs are called missions. It can be a survey, mystery shopping, scanner bar codes, taking pictures and other really simple stuff.
You get the job, do the job, submit the job, they review it, credit your account (hopefully) and you cash out.
You can cash out your earning as soon as you’ve reached the 1$ minimum required. Which btw shouldn’t take you more than one mission. Payments are made via PayPal and take up to about 48 hours.
For start it’s only available to US, Canada, Australia and some European countries. I also feel that this app is more targeted toward people living in big cities. For the simple reason that there are more companies and it is where their high-traffic branches are located.
Another thing to take into consideration is your travel time. Once you’ve accepted a mission, you have 120 minutes to get on site and submit your “results”. You must have the means to get where you want in a timely manner. That brings me to my next point, your expenses. Make sure you don’t spend more on travel than you’re expecting to do with the job.
The app is really simple to use and it’s kind of fun to sometimes look and pick a job just to get out of your home and do something.
Depending on the jobs, you can make good money just to go to a store and take pictures.
On the other hand, it’s also quite easy to get your job turned down. If you do not meet their expectations 100%, they will refuse it and your trust score will drop.
For the time you put in, the payout is not really worth it. You have to pay for your transport, spend time to go there, spend time in the store and all that isn’t reimbursed. If the mission isn’t approved all that time and money is for nothing.
There is no referral program available. Which sucks. If you refer people from your area to the site, there will be less job for you logically. So an incentive for referring people would have been nice.
You really won’t earn that much with them. In fact, you might even lose money if you go mystery shopping for them. They turn down so many of their agents for no apparent reasons. To me, that’s scary.
With so many other similar websites and apps around I don’t feel like I should be using Field Agent. Just not worth the risk.
What’s your own take on Field Agent? Do you use another similar app to earn money from your home?
